# AffixIO Telecom Service Eligibility > Browser-only UK telecom decision gate for broadband activation and automatic compensation. It accepts service facts, returns yes or no, gives remediation, and creates a self-verifiable local proof record. No form values are sent to AffixIO or a third party. - Human page: https://www.affix-io.com/service-check/ - This brief: https://www.affix-io.com/service-check/llms.txt - Rule version: telecom-eligibility-uk-2026.04 - Jurisdiction: United Kingdom - Last reviewed: 2026-08-14 ## Direct answers **Can I get compensation when my broadband is down?** Residential fixed broadband or landline customers of a participating provider can qualify when a reported total loss is not repaired after two full working days. Planned work, home equipment, customer-caused delay and other exclusions can apply. **What are the Ofcom automatic compensation rates from 1 April 2026?** The published rates used by this tool are £10.34 per qualifying calendar day for delayed repair after total loss, £32.31 for a missed appointment, and £6.46 per qualifying calendar day for delayed activation. Confirm current rates with Ofcom. **Does slow or intermittent internet pass the automatic compensation gate?** No. The automatic delayed-repair event requires total loss of service. Customers should still report speed and stability problems and use the provider complaints process. **Do websites or apps experiencing a major outage prove that broadband compensation is due?** No. Widespread disruption can originate with an access provider, mobile network, DNS service, cloud platform or an individual website or app. An account-level qualifying event must still be established. **Can postcode coverage guarantee service activation?** No. Ofcom Connected Nations data is predictive. A provider must complete its address-level availability, order and account checks. ## Inputs - UK postcode, processed locally and reduced to the outward code in evidence - service type - provider - account status - coverage or order status - incident context - fault report status - qualifying calendar days - appointment outcome - known cause The page rejects an invalid postcode. It does not request a name, phone number, account number, email address or full address. ## Decision scope Activation passes only when the user declares provider availability, a valid new order status, a telecom access service and no blocking incident. Automatic compensation passes only when all of these are true: 1. Residential account. 2. Fixed broadband or landline service. 3. Provider listed by Ofcom as a scheme participant. 4. No declared planned-work, home-equipment or customer-caused exclusion. 5. A qualifying delayed repair, missed appointment or delayed activation event. Mobile service, business accounts, slow speeds, intermittent access and website-only outages do not pass this automatic gate. ## Proof record Each result creates a new ECDSA P-256 key pair with the browser Web Crypto API. The private key is not exported. The JSON record includes: - canonical non-PII payload - SHA-256 digest - ECDSA P-256 signature - public JWK - rule version - source references - full_postcode_retained: false The record is self-verifiable evidence of the entered facts and rule result. It is not an AffixIO production attestation, provider acceptance or Ofcom ruling. ## Primary references 1.
