What is highly effective age assurance?
Ofcom requires age methods that are technically accurate, robust, reliable, and fair. Self-declaration alone does not qualify.
Does the verifier see date of birth?
Not by default. AffixIO returns signed YES or NO that a threshold is met.

How does this relate to the Online Safety Act?

What counts as age estimation vs verification?
The Act treats both as age assurance when implemented with appropriate methods. Self-declaration alone is excluded.
Do we need to store verification records?
Retention depends on GDPR and service design. AffixIO minimises data at the verifier.
